Why Use a Foam Cannon at a Car Wash?

Oct 26

A foam cannon is one of the most useful tools available in a self serve car wash. At Clean Getaway, both our Edmonton and Spruce Grove locations feature foam cannons designed to help drivers achieve better cleaning results before moving through the remaining wash steps.

Here's how they work and why we include them in our premium wash equipment.

What Does a Foam Cannon Do?

A foam cannon applies a thick layer of cleaning foam across your vehicle's exterior. The foam helps loosen surface dirt, road grime, and other contaminants before you begin washing.

This pre-soak is particularly useful for vehicles exposed to Alberta's changing road conditions, including dust, mud, salt, and everyday buildup.

By loosening contaminants before using a wash brush, the foam cannon helps reduce the amount of dirt remaining on the surface during contact washing.

Why Equipment Makes a Difference

Not every self serve car wash offers the same equipment.

At Clean Getaway, our foam cannons work alongside specially formulated, locally sourced detergents, fresh water, and precision engineered pressure systems.

Our oversized bays also provide room to move around your vehicle comfortably, while bright LED lighting helps you see areas that need additional attention.

These features give drivers more control over their wash, whether they're cleaning a daily commuter, SUV, pickup truck, or recreational vehicle.

How to Use the Foam Cannon

Clean Getaway recommends beginning your wash with the foam cannon pre-soak.

Apply foam across the vehicle, allowing it to begin loosening surface buildup. Follow with rim and tire cleaner and salt and bug remover where needed.

Continue with the soap gun, foam brush, and high pressure rinse. Complete your wash with Triple Shine, wax, and a spot free rinse.

Every visit also begins with a complimentary undercarriage wash.
